Does a Mother Who Kills Her Children Have the Right to be Buried with them?

Your Black World Reports

Most of us know about the case of LaShanda Armstrong, the mother who killed three of her children by driving them into the Hudson River.   Controversy erupted when the childrens’ father announced that LaShanda would not be buried along with her children.  This leads us to openly question whether a parent who kills their kids has the right to be buried with them.

To discuss this issue, I brought in Deborrah Cooper from SurvivingDating.com to look at both sides of the issue.  The video is below, enjoy!

I thought I’ve heard everything but this Deborrah Cooper’s pitiful rationale for why this woman killed herself and her children is just that… pitiful. I don’t care what the circumstances were..she had no right to take their lives. PERIOD!!PERIOD!!. The little boy who escaped indicated that she was had second thoughts and appeared remorseful before he floated out of the car window and swam to shore.

The trauma he has gone through will require some therapy for him and I hope to God he gets it and no advice from Deborrah Cooper.

The question of the mother’s rights is moot, considering that she’s dead. The issue is the attitude of the people left behind. I would submit, that burying them apart would eas the strain on the families involved.

This father is using the funeral and burial as a diversion. Unless he has an antisocial personality disorder is has much guilt for his role as a father. The burial of this mother with her children is a family decision. The term right doesn’t apply in this enormous lose.
I challenge our community to make a committee to be proactive, intervene and support young mothers, single parents ( moms & dads) and seek mental health treatment (legal systems) if needed. It was less than 1 year, when another mother killed her children and it was revealed that she was clearly faced with multiple challenges; low wages, single parent and several children under the age of 5. These families are apart of our villages and we need to stop talking, blaming parents and denying obvious signs.

Because the mother chose to kill her children and is no longer with us, the decision is now left up to the father and the family. My opinion is that she does not deserve to be buried with her children because she had no right to take their lives in the first place.

I will agree with you Dr. Boyce as far as playing Devil’ advocate but your new best friend needs to be briefed on her beliefs of the man’s continued mental abuse with this woman it is a moral type situation I would say instead of it being so personal as she states it is.Both sides didn’t make sense to me because the la still stipulates she is the mother irregardless of whether they’re dead or alive. This like beating a dead horse. The reality is to establish measures to prevent these cases from happening again. That is the reality about this situation you can dissect it but it sill remains the same to identify this and assess the facts and change the statistics on these heart rending deaths~
