Van Jones Challenges Glenn Bleck To Debate
Van Jones, President Obama’s former “green jobs” czar, has recently produced a television ad sponsored by MoveOn.org in which he challenges soon-to-be leaving Fox News host Glenn Beck to a debate concerning Beck’s attacks on “millions of hardworking Americans who just wanna(sic) give their kids a better life”.
Jones, who was removed from his position as “green jobs” czar largely because of the onslaught of negative (and mostly false) press from Beck and his friends at Fox News, would have every right to still hold a grudge against Beck. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. According to the article, this debate is designed to draw attention to MoveOn.org’s “Rebuild the Dream” campaign scheduled to begin this week, and which is designed to help direct more national attention towards job creation, as opposed to deficit reduction.
I applaud the efforts of Jones and MoveOn.org in attempting to address the issue of job creation in this country. Millions of people, including a disproportionate number of Black people, are presently struggling with unemployment. If destroying Glenn Beck in a debate will help bring attention and action to creating jobs for workers, then I’m all for it. Though I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Beck were too cowardly to accept the debate offer; he seems more comfortable debating with inanimate objects.

I hope Beck will accept, but, I doubt it. It goes deeper than cowardice. People like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh like to spew their propaganda with no rebutal. They know that they can have some people totally convinced that what the’re saying is fact if they don’t hear an opposing view.
What does Beck have to do with black people rebuilding the dream, thats the problem we try to bring others into what we should be doing. Why should Beck debate Jones who was kicked out because he is a commuist why are we listenig to him? Beck gives us a class and tells us to look it up for ourselves. We need to stop being victums and get our act together as far as our kids and our future. Jones and Obama need us to be victums, Beck gets nothing from debating Jones.
