NFL Player Gets in Trouble for Remarks about Bin Laden and Slavery

by Dr. Boyce Watkins, YourBlackWorld.comScholarship in Action

Rashard Mendenhall of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been taking heat lately for making comments that many believe are in support of Osama Bin Laden.  But rather than being supportive of Bin Laden, Mendenhall is simply stating that Americans are celebrating death just a little too much for his comfort:

"What kind of person celebrates death? It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side…" Mendenhall said on his Twitter account.

Adding to the controversy, Mendenhall went further by stating that he’s not exactly sure what happened on September 11.

"We’ll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style."

I agree with Rashard Mendenhall. I CAN’T and will NEVER, EVER celebrate someone’s death no matter who they are. If Osamin Bin Laden did commit that castastrophe on September 11, then he deserves what happened to him because many innocent people lost their lives. If he didn’t and someone or few people are being sneaky re: continuing their wicked ways/plan(s) from the beginning of time and is trying to put BLAME on someone else, then we need to look into this further. This is wrong.

    p.s.
Rashard Mendenhall, DON’T apologize for anything you’ve said. You said nothing wrong. They are GUILTY for their wickedness and the comment made HIT HOME HARD.

Kudos to Rashard, I agree 1000% with you this country is hungry to kill a dark skinned human for any wicked reason. You are right on every account. As long as the person murdered is not of white persuasion it’s “Great” for many in this country. That’s what wrong with the divisiveness in this country Every thing is for the elite and that’s that. Bin Laden is no different than Qaddafi or the Israelis, except Israelis are of a lighter skin hue but this government are tiptoeing around them their hateful country treating them like royalty. we are doing what we have done for centuries conquering land, hating and killing of innocent individuals because of skin color which is the same thing that has kept slavery alive. Look back through history to present day and you will see that people of dark skin color are always guilty of any accusation whether true or false even after concrete evidence is provided but still the dark skinned person is executed or treated harshly while being denied any human or civil rights considerations. This is what the United States of America is founded on. Look at the country as a whole every state, even foreigners who come here look at African Americans as less than human who are automatically guilty of a plethora of sins guilty or not. All blacks have been thrown into a class of lower than animal status and that is how the world views us. As far as whether Bin Laden is dead or not doesn’t really matter perhaps he would be the wrong man accused for the 911 crime, maybe we should be looking closer to home like the Cheney/Bush Adm. Clearly many white Americans would rather it had been Obama who died in the navy seals raid on the compound in Pakistan. Those who tweeted Obama instead of Osama knew what they were doing it was not by mistake but another deliberate malicious act laced with historical hatred for African Americans. The fact that the leader of this country has brown skin makes the Racist whites crazy. we will never overcome this hatred until all of the whites are reduced to pauper status ruled with an iron fist just as they have ruled blacks for 400 years. This country has a lot of blood on it’s hands and every ethnicity the good and the bad will pay a big price some day for the hatred shown to some of God’s children while others are placed on a pedestal. Lindsay lohan, charlie sheen, the catholic church many other murders and criminals who continue to maintain lives of crime until death without penalty just because they are “White” and white rule don’t see any criminality in behaviors otherwise deemed felonious for others.(primarily people of color)

Racism is real. Nevertheless, more than Just white people were killed on that day. Whether you want to associate yourselves with the masses or not, we are all products of America. We are all Americans. I felt the pain of 9-11. Moreover, Al Qaeda has consistently and waveringly confirmed their and Bin Laden’s involvement in the 9-11 attacks. They were and are very proud of their actions. I love a good conspiracy theory, but every thing that sound crazy is not necessarily true! And you definitely do not come out of your mouth or on your keyboard or what have you and question the sacrifices that have been made fighting to keep us from a repeat of those days. I just do not get it.

Honestly… If you can admit that whites can hate people for no reason than the color of their skin and institutionalize that hatred to the extent that they would fake 9-11 and the “War on Terror,” you should be able to side with the other 99% of Americans that know enough about what happened that day to be thankful for the sacrifices of our troops.
