Black skin is thick and lush, sensuous to the touch, like satin and velvet made flesh. There’s only one patch of skin on a white man’s body that remotely compares to nearly every inch of a black man’s skin. Eve talks about Lil’ Kim & Nicki Minaj Beef…

After all of the success that Eve has earned and much more success to come on her new album, she has no reason to hate on or have beef with the next big female artist.

Just today in an interview, Eve spoke on the matters between rappers, Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj.  Eve claims that it’s not a good look for Lil’ Kim to beef with Nicki.  As far as Eve is concerned, she is glad that more women are embracing Hip-Hop and Nicki Minaj is definitely a woman that can hold her own in this game.

I totally agree with what Eve was trying to say.  She was basically saying that women need to stop hating on each other and just do themselves… Don’t try to be like Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Kim, Queen Latifah, Foxie Brown, MC Lyte, Remi Ma, Diamond, Trina or Keys… Just be you, rap in your own way and make it as fresh as you can… BUT always accept others for what they do as well.

It is so good to see a woman who is openly embracing other women in the Hip-Hop industry, she is allowing room for more than one female rapper at the top and that is what sister hood should be all about…

Black Men are at Greater Risk of Prostate Cancer Because…

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California has conducted a new study, and they claim to have discovered why black men are at higher risk for prostate cancer. Their findings indicate that African-American males possess a ‘risk marker’ that can be seen in five percent of men who have blood ties to Africa but that this ‘risk marker’ is even more rare in other nationalities. Christopher Haiman, head of the research team, says, “We have been trying to figure out why African-American men have a greater risk for prostate cancer, and these findings may help us better understand if there is a genetic contribution to disparities in risk for this common cancer.” Researchers also make the claim that this is the first study to uncover a genetic connection between African ancestry and prostate cancer.

Armstrong Atlantic State University 100 Black Men Chapter Earns National Honor

First place is not the only place in which achievement can be cherished and celebrated. Armstrong Atlantic State University’s 100 Black Men chapter won national honors as the runner-up Collegiate 100 Chapter of 2011. They will receive their award on June 10th at the 25th National Conference of 100 Black Men of America in San Francisco. President of Savannah’s 100 Black Men chapter, Lloyd A. Johnson, said:

“As the percentage of African-American male college graduates declines, these outstanding men have combined academic excellence with community service and contributed to the betterment of Savannah.“They deserve the highest praise for the honor which they bring to themselves, the Savannah 100, Armstrong Atlantic State University — but particularly the city of Savannah.”

Recipients of this award show themselves to be good campus role models, dedicated to community service, and achievers of academic excellence. The award also includes a $1,500 program grant which will be accepted at the ceremony by Kwame Phillips and the chapter president, Oluwayomi Adeyomo.
