The State of Black America: When Will Obama Start Listening to the Urban League?

The Urban League recently gathered for its State of Black America Conference to discuss issues and concerns that black Americans face across the United States. The conference is both respected and cherished by a community that continuously seeks those who can righteously advocate for the issues that matter the most to black people. To date, the “Holy Trinity of Black Oppression” remains consistent and clear: Economic inequality, educational inequality and mass incarceration.
The Urban League is correct to cite that black unemployment, at 15.3 percent, remains nearly double the 8.9 percent unemployment rate for white Americans. Additionally, we can see more direct links to unemployment that come from the massive numbers of African Americans who are brought up in inadequate school systems and who are condemned from economic and political participation as a result of a criminal record. The truth is that all of these problems are connected, and failing to address these issues will continue to support the perpetual destruction of the black family in America.
Considering the enormous issues confronting President Obama I think we have to trust he’ll do right by our communities, considering the uphill battle he faces from all directions. The entrenched racism that permeates our society cannot be ignored and he has to deal with it everyday. Given the effort by his opponents to ascertain his defeat in the next presidential election I think he’s doing everything possible under the circumstances.
Instead of criticizing him we need to throw our support behind him. He needs it more than ever.

Black America is not as smart as a 5th grader if they think or expect Barrack H. Obama to even think about the plight of Black America. He is so entrenched in his own world of fantasy he couldn’t see black if he looked into the mirror. This is a sham, he is window dressing for the white elites and we all know it. stop fooling yourselves give it up this excuse for a man let alone the President of “ALL” people is a dream found in a horror movie for blacks. This sea urchin is only interested in preserving red carpet treatment for millions of Calderon’s debris. Make no mistake about it Obama is in agreement with the punitive unjust treatment cold blooded killings by police, through the court systems including the supreme court as it relates to providing even a small semblance of justice to black Americans. Holder is so deep up in the dark corners of the Clinton’s he thinks he is still in a tunnel. Black Americans have no chance of ever getting justice actually we have returned to the days of slavery, Jim Crow hangings of black men, murder in cold blood are the norm in many states. Prison incarceration has cleansed this country of most of the black males which in turn destroys the voting rights which they never wanted 3/5 humans to have in the first place> The irony of this story is simply this: every law on the books were written for those other than blacks historically they have been and continue to be carried out in the manner, order and spirit in which they were written. We can go to church clap our hands and praise the Lord but at the end of the day we powerless souls reduced to empty shells existing until a hateful white man decides to take us out. Nothing will be done no matter how heinous the crime no matter the age, sex or gender. We are considered disposable. Blacks are gullible and slow learners Obama did not claim to include the plight of black America in his presidency He remained silent through out his campaign regarding black America. He has fought for the people he pledged he would fight for the Illegal aliens,and big business. Period Don’t be sad, or angry be smart put your vote where your heart is. to be bamboozled once is not a prerequisite to continue the same mistake.
