Where’s my invitation? Like the census form, it probably got lost in the mail? We need new thinking from our leadership. We need “Fresh Blood.” It would be invigorating to any new effort by Blacks to invite “Regular Folks” with good ideas to the debate. The same old, same old group think tank has accomplished “Nothing.” What’s the harm in inviting somebody the public can relate to in life? Some “Average Joe” that can be googled with a track record of good ideas and opinions would be good for the debate. We are selling a product and an agenda that the public can buy. Why offer the same crap from Harvard and sell it as new? Time to “Keep it Real?”
Leadership isn’t about how many degrees one has or how often one can do something stupid to get on television. Leadership is about addressing issues with common sense and new approaches. Leadership is about finding ways to be effective and efficient in the strategy and approach. This leadership is about “The Status Quo.” How many times will we continue to invite the same old people and accept the same results. Didn’t Allen Iverson call this “Practice?” How long are Black people going to just “Practice” before we get in the game? Our old leaders are tired and beat up from practicing on each other. Share the spotlight because our resources are limited. Hogging the mic doesn’t make one or us more effective. What’s the harm in inviting “New Blood?” We can’t do any worse or be any less effective. That’s “Keeping it Real.”
where is my invitation? i think this one will be fruitful Tavis a.. want be there bashing our President we have input as-well God Bless America
Unless you know the truth, be careful disrespecting an unknown “Little Person.” President Obama could be mad because I had to show loyalty to John Edwards. We did throw our support to Obama at the critical time. It could be interesting to have unknowns.
