Black News: Vanity Fair Cover Considered Racist
Vanity Fair
One thing magazines love to do is call dibs on who will be the new "It" celebrities in the year to come. Sometimes they pick stars whose careers are destined to take off, occasionally they make incredible calls with near-nobodies who later become A-listers, and usually the majority of their picks fade into oblivion. While we’d like to think celeb bible Vanity Fair puts a great deal of thought and planning into its annual "New Hollywood" issue, this year the editors really limited their scope when it came to choosing the next big stars. (Or perhaps they overemphasized the "Fair"? ) Every woman on its new cover is extremely thin and very, very white. Unless Vanity Fair considers one redhead to be diversity, we feel the need to cry foul.

I feel that everything the article stated was fact. Although the roles in Hollywood are being taken by predominantly white professionals, there are more and more minorities entering Hollywood every year. I feel that Vanity Fair should have been sensitive to this issue. Who looked at this story idea? Who saw the photograph and overlooked the fact that Hollywood is in a country that calls itself a “melting pot?” Maybe the writer was just that oblivious. Either way, someone should have looked at this photo and noticed an absence of representation.
“Maybe the writer was just that oblivious”
Or maybe the writers were simply evaluating the up-and-coming talent without looking at every decision with their “race goggles” on.
Not every issue, picture, article, etc. is about race. Hate to break it to you.

BUT YES…. IT IS EXACTLY….BUT YOU ARE THE ONE THAT PUT IT OUT THERE WITH THE STATEMENT….GOOD JOB …ANDY…it is always a flip of the script when it comes to them…ITS ALWAYS OK THATS THE WAY IT SUPPOSED TO BE….RIGHT….LOL….
Maybe the picture was taken during a period when the African-American women selected by Vanity Fair were recovering from being assaulted by Chris Brown. I agree with Andy 100%. Get over yourselves.
