Oprah Warns Rihanna Publicly
Oprah Winfrey (left) has publicly warned Rihanna to stay away from Chris Brown, saying he will assault her again. HOLLYWOOD – OPRAH Winfrey has publicly warned Rihanna to stay away from Chris Brown, saying he will assault her again.
"Both Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I were your friend, I would call you up and I would say, ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counselling, take care of yourself, heal yourself first,’" Oprah said.
"Love doesn’t hurt. I’ve been saying this to women for years – love doesn’t hurt. And if a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again. I don’t care what his plea is, he will hit you again.’
God Bless Oprah Winfrey, but how many people in this world have the courage or the stupidity to tell this child when she is wrong? Oprah is in no position to be giving Rihanna public advice on love issues. Why? We’ve got to ask ourselves does Oprah know what love is? Does Oprah care? For years we have seen her dysfunctional love affair with Stedman. It looks like Oprah and Gail are more in love than Oprah and Stedman. It must be like Dr. Ruth Westheimer giving us sexual information and knowing the last time she had sex “The Honeymooners” were on. No Oprah is not an authority on love issues. We know Oprah loves herself and that’s not bad advice, but it doesn’t apply in Rihanna’s case. What’s wrong here is control. We assume that because Chris Brown is clearly guilty of hitting this woman that she is the victim. Why do men hit? They are fighting for what’s left of their pitiful lives. They see it as, “They have nothing left to lose.” Rihanna, I believe, exerts a certain level of control over Chris. I think that level threatened his manhood and he fought back blinded by rage. I think Rihanna feels guilty because she knows she exercises a level of comfort and control over him. Did Chris go too far…absolutely. Does love hurt…only if it’s unconditional. Does Oprah know anything about unconditional love if all she truly has is her dogs? None of us are perfect. Exploiting these kids is wrong too. Shut up and let them work things out. We will all protect Rihanna. We can castrate Chris anytime. Hitting anyone is not okay.
